Clubhouse began as a social media startup by founders Paul Davison and Rohan Seth in Fall 2019. Originally designed for podcasts under the name Talk show, the app was rebranded as "Clubhouse" and officially released for the iOS operating system in March 2020.

Clubhouse has shook the market with storm with its brand new & one of a kind drop in audio chat, where users can join the audio rooms or groups and can chat with all the members of the group participate in the discussion and share their views.

You can communicate in audio chat rooms that accommodate groups of thousands of people. Other social audio apps like Discord Stage Channels, Facebook Live Audio Rooms, Reddit Talk, Slack Huddles, Spotify Greenroom, Telegram Voice Chats and Twitter Spaces which all directly compete against Clubhouse.

Reddit

Not a new platform as it was launched in 2005, but there are not many people who know about Reddit and those who know don't use it to it's full potential as they are not aware of all the features of the app.

The dedicated groups and the communities are called subreddits where you can do pretty much every thing you do on other social media platforms but these subreddits have a variety of topics so it's better to research about the topic of your interest and then join the group
